915 Alayande Varsity Scholars Secure NELFUND Loan

In a major win for students of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, 915 scholars have successfully secured funding from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), easing the financial burden of their academic journey.

The university’s media and public relations officer, Wale Adeoye, confirmed the development in an official statement, expressing the institution’s gratitude to NELFUND for its support. The university also extended congratulations to the beneficiaries, recognizing the impact of the initiative on their education.

“This is to inform the university community that the institution has received loan funds for 915 students,” the statement read. “Our university is grateful to NELFUND for this support, and we congratulate the students who have benefitted.”

The administration has scheduled a meeting with the loan recipients next week for necessary documentation. Students who had already paid their tuition for the 2023/2024 session will have the option of a refund or using the funds for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Encouraging wider participation, the university urged students to apply for the next round of NELFUND loans once the platform reopens for the 2024/2025 session. Meanwhile, all students were reminded to complete their school fee payments to avoid restrictions from lectures and examinations.

This initiative marks a significant step toward accessible education, offering financial relief and empowering students to focus on their academic goals.
