Government Launches Major Offensive Against Bandits in North West"

In a bid to restore peace and security in the North West region, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has embarked on a mission to flush out bandits and terrorists in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi states. Matawalle will be joined by the Chief of Defence Staff and other military chiefs in Sokoto, headquarters of the GOC for the four states.

The move is part of the government's efforts to address the growing threat of banditry and terrorism in the region. Matawalle expressed sadness over the activities of the bandits and terrorists, citing a recent incident in Zamfara state where bandits celebrated the stucking of a military armoured vehicle in a waterlogged area.

The minister assured the people of the region that the security forces would leave no stone unturned in their quest to flush out the bandits. "The time is up for these bandits and terrorists. We will deploy all necessary assets to ensure that they are weakened and our people can move freely," he said.

Matawalle's presence in the North West is expected to boost the morale of the security forces and lead to increased and consistent operations against the bandits. The government has pledged to support the armed forces in their mission to restore peace and security in the region.
