You All Should Be Proud of Me!” Pastor Tobi Adegboyega Speaks Out Amid Deportation Drama

By Achimi Muktar

Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, the flamboyant Nigerian-born UK preacher and former leader of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, has broken his silence on reports of his impending deportation to Nigeria. Despite losing a legal battle to remain in the United Kingdom, Adegboyega struck a defiant tone in a social media address, urging his supporters to “be proud” of him.

The Deportation Ruling

An immigration tribunal recently ruled that Adegboyega, 44, must return to Nigeria following allegations of financial misconduct linked to his church, which was shut down over a £1.87 million fraud scandal. According to The Telegraph, investigations uncovered significant irregularities that contributed to the decision.

The pastor, who is a cousin of Star Wars actor John Boyega, claimed that deportation would infringe upon his human rights, but his arguments failed to sway the tribunal.

“No Cause for Alarm”

In response to the ruling, Adegboyega addressed the controversy on his Instagram page, dismissing the news as exaggerated.

“I’ve heard a lot today, and I’m doing this because of our friends, our fans, and people who are worried. I’m right here at home. No cause for alarm,” he assured his followers.

“Every Nigerian should be proud of me. I have survived all sorts, and the matter they are propagating is the smallest of matters. No panic. I love London city. It is my city, and nobody can do anything.”

The Rise and Fall of Pastor Tobi Adegboyega

Adegboyega first gained prominence as the leader of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, also known as SPAC Nation, which attracted young followers with its flashy lifestyle and promise of spiritual empowerment. However, the church came under intense scrutiny after allegations of financial exploitation surfaced.

The UK Charity Commission launched an investigation, citing complaints of lavish spending, mismanagement, and undue pressure on members to donate. The scandal culminated in the closure of the church and tarnished Adegboyega’s reputation.

Public Reactions

The deportation saga has sparked mixed reactions online. While some supporters continue to defend the pastor, critics argue that his claims of innocence are unconvincing in light of the financial misconduct allegations.

One user commented, “He calls this the ‘smallest of matters,’ but £1.87 million fraud is no small thing. Justice must prevail.” Another supporter countered, “Pastor Tobi has always been a target because of his success and influence. This is nothing but persecution.”

What Lies Ahead?

Despite his confident statements, the pastor’s future remains uncertain. If deported, Adegboyega will have to rebuild his life in Nigeria, a stark contrast to his high-profile presence in the UK.

For now, the man who once called London “his city” seems determined to maintain his defiance, insisting that his story is far from over. Whether his supporters “should be proud” remains a matter of perspective.
