🚨 Tragedy in South Africa: NiDCOM Demands Justice for Slain Nigerians

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of two Nigerian traders—Austin and Ayo—by masked gunmen in Durban, South Africa. Describing the act as barbaric and senseless, NiDCOM urged South African authorities to swiftly investigate and prosecute those responsible.

NiDCOM Chair, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and confirmed that the Nigerian High Commission is actively engaging with South African authorities. She emphasized that despite the early-warning mechanisms agreed upon by both countries, implementation remains sluggish—an oversight she says can no longer be tolerated.

While expressing condolences to the victims’ families, Dabiri-Erewa urged the Nigerian community in South Africa to remain calm and law-abiding as investigations continue. She reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to ensuring justice is served.

“No Nigerian life should be taken without consequence,” she said, stressing that this trend must end.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high among Nigerians in the area as the nation watches closely for the South African government’s next move.
