Tinubu’s Ramadan Surprise: 7,000 Bags of Rice Gifted to APC Members in Zamfara

By Achimi Muktar

In a bid to ease economic hardship during the holy month of Ramadan, President Bola Tinubu has donated 7,000 bags of rice to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State as part of a "Ramadan package."

The generous gesture, aimed at supporting party members and underprivileged individuals, was announced by the APC’s state Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, in a statement on Saturday. He revealed that the distribution was officially launched by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, who represented President Tinubu at the event.

According to the statement, Matawalle handed over the rice to party executives at the APC Secretariat in Gusau. He emphasized that the distribution would be carried out fairly, ensuring that targeted beneficiaries—including state executives, local government officials, and ward representatives—received their share.

“This gesture is to appreciate the efforts of the APC leadership in Zamfara for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty in making the party stronger and more united,” Matawalle stated.

He further assured party members of continued support from the leadership while urging them to remain steadfast and pray for peace and stability in both the state and the nation.

The state Secretary of the APC, Ibrahim Dangaladima, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the minister for what he called a “quick food intervention.” He noted that the donation came at a critical time when many people were in desperate need of food assistance.

As the economic crisis continues to bite, this Ramadan gift from the presidency is expected to bring some relief to APC members in Zamfara—though whether it reaches the most vulnerable remains to be seen.
