Tinubu’s Eyes on Nigeria’s Future, Not 2027 Election – Presidency
Tinubu’s Eyes on Nigeria’s Future, Not 2027 Election – Presidency
By Achimi Muktar
Despite growing political chatter about the 2027 presidential election, President Bola Tinubu remains unbothered by re-election concerns, choosing instead to focus on reshaping Nigeria’s economy and improving citizens’ lives.
This was revealed by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, who emphasized that Tinubu’s priority is governance, not campaign politics.
“President Tinubu is not worried about the next election,” Dare stated. “He’s focused on the shared prosperity he can bring to Nigerians. His concern is ensuring that his reforms deliver real impact, especially on the economy.”
Highlighting recent economic gains under Tinubu’s leadership, Dare pointed to rising foreign reserves, declining inflation, a growing trade surplus, and an influx of over $50 billion in investments. He also noted a shift in Nigeria’s trade balance, with exports increasing and imports dropping, which he described as signs of a stabilizing economy.
“We have clear data to back this progress. The President is in the driver’s seat, making tough but necessary decisions to turn things around. For him, the real victory isn’t in 2027—it’s in delivering a Nigeria where people can thrive,” Dare added.
As debates around the next election heat up, Tinubu’s stance signals a leadership approach focused on long-term impact rather than short-term political gains—a message his administration hopes will resonate with Nigerians.
