Tinubu Turns 73: Seeks Divine Intervention for Nigeria’s Future

As President Bola Tinubu marks his 73rd birthday this Saturday, he is choosing prayer over pomp, turning to spiritual reflection to seek divine guidance for Nigeria’s progress.

In line with this, Tinubu will join fellow Muslims at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday for a special prayer session dedicated to the nation's peace, unity, and prosperity.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement titled, ‘President Tinubu to Mark 73rd Birthday with Special Prayer at the Abuja National Mosque.’

A Birthday of Reflection, Not Celebration

Unlike previous birthdays that might have been marked with celebrations, this year’s occasion falls within the holy month of Ramadan, a period of fasting, reflection, and supplication for Muslims worldwide.

“On this significant day, the President will dedicate himself to spiritual reflection and supplication for Nigeria’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity,” Onanuga stated.

The decision to hold a prayer session rather than a grand celebration underscores Tinubu’s belief in divine guidance as he leads the nation through challenging times.

Renewed Hope for Nigeria

Tinubu, who will be marking two years in office in May, expressed deep gratitude for the support he has received from Nigerians so far. He urged citizens to use this moment for collective prayers, emphasizing that spiritual strength can help navigate the country’s economic and security challenges.

“I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation,” Tinubu said.

“As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with Renewed Hope for Nigeria. I urge all citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing for our land. Together, we shall overcome challenges and build a nation where every citizen thrives.”

The prayer session is open to all Nigerians, with Tinubu encouraging the public to join in from their places of worship or homes, reinforcing a nationwide commitment to unity and shared destiny.
