_Seyi Tinubu: A Victim of Cyber Bullying and Political Desperados

By Yakub Usman Yakub

In a recent turn of events, Seyi Tinubu, the 38-year-old son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has found himself at the center of a cyberbullying storm. Atiku Abubakar, a serial presidential candidate, has dragged Seyi's name into his desperate politics, accusing him of wrongdoing simply because he serves on the board of a company owned by the Chagoury family, which won a bid for a portion of the transformative Lagos-Calabar Coastal road project.

However, Special Adviser to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has come to Seyi's defense, stating that he cannot be denied his right to chart his own path in life simply because he is the president's son. Seyi, a qualified lawyer and accomplished businessman, has built a reputation as a respectful and restrained individual, known for his hard work and dynamism.

Despite his business interests and innovative approach to outdoor advertising, Seyi has faced criticism for his presence at the Climate Change summit, with some ignorantly assuming that his attendance was unjustified. In reality, Seyi was a key player in mobilizing youth support for his father's candidacy, creating a platform that played a significant role in the campaign's success.

Seyi's Right to Participate

Every administration has its style, and it's not uncommon for family members to be involved in politics. Donald Trump appointed his daughter and son-in-law to prominent roles in his White House, while President Bill Clinton tapped his wife Hillary's expertise to formulate and push his ambitious healthcare plan. President Kennedy even appointed his brother as Attorney-General.
