In a major development, President Bola Tinubu has formally nominated Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), seeking the Senate's confirmation. The nomination of General Oluyede comes after his appointment as Acting Chief of Army Staff on October 30, following the illness of the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
