"No One Dares Tinubu and Wins": NSA Ribadu Sends Strong Warning to Terror Group Lakurawa

By AchimiMuktar

In a powerful statement addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has issued a stern warning to the newly emerging terror group, Lakurawa, declaring that no group that dares President Bola Tinubu will prevail. Ribadu’s remarks were delivered at the Comptroller-General of Customs conference in Abuja, where he represented the President on Wednesday.

Ribadu’s fierce warning comes in response to recent attacks in the northwest, specifically in Kebbi State, where the terror group Lakurawa carried out a deadly assault in Augie Local Government, killing 17 people in Mera village. The NSA made it clear that the government would swiftly and decisively eliminate the group.

"This is Nigeria of 2024, We Will Finish Them"

Ribadu’s tone was unequivocal as he addressed the growing insecurity in parts of Nigeria. He declared that the Federal Government, under President Tinubu’s leadership, is committed to destroying any group that poses a threat to national security. “No one dares Tinubu and wins. No one fights Tinubu and wins,” Ribadu stated, emphasizing the government's resolve to wipe out the Lakurawa group.

Referring to Nigeria’s ongoing battle with terrorism, the NSA noted significant gains made under the current administration. He pointed out that former terrorist strongholds, such as regions affected by Boko Haram in the northeast, are now quieter and more secure, with many fighters fleeing to neighboring Niger Republic. “Go to where Boko Haram was operating, there is silence. They have fled,” he said, adding that many militants are now surrendering to Nigerian forces.

A Unified Security Front

The NSA credited these successes to the unprecedented unity within Nigeria’s security agencies. For the first time in the nation’s history, Ribadu said, military, intelligence, and police forces are working together as a cohesive unit. He referred to this cooperation as one of President Tinubu’s key achievements, which he described as "Tinubu’s gains." According to Ribadu, this unified approach is already bearing fruit, as bandits and terrorists across the country are being killed or captured daily.

Ribadu specifically addressed the Lakurawa group, calling their decision to strike in Nigeria a grave miscalculation. “These so-called Lakurawas are making a mistake. Nobody dares Tinubu and wins,” he warned, stressing that the group had come at the wrong time and would be decisively defeated.

Military Deployment to Kebbi State

In response to the Lakurawa attacks in Kebbi, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa has deployed a large contingent of troops to the troubled area. Equipped with armored vehicles and advanced weaponry, the soldiers quickly moved to Mera village to root out the terror group and recover livestock stolen during the recent raid.

The swift military response followed a direct plea from Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, who called for federal support in combating the escalating violence. The deployment was met with praise from local leaders, who expressed hope that the increased military presence would restore peace and security to the region.

Economic Reforms and Global Recognition

Ribadu didn’t stop at security; he also highlighted key economic gains made by President Tinubu’s administration. Among these achievements, Ribadu cited the unification of the foreign exchange rate and the end of illicit financial gains through the Central Bank of Nigeria. “The Central Bank of Nigeria is clean. Nobody is making one dime in the Central Bank like in 2023, Tinubu’s gains,” Ribadu declared, forecasting a more stabilized naira and continued economic growth.

Ribadu further noted Nigeria’s increasing global stature, emphasizing that President Tinubu is in high demand on the international stage. He revealed that foreign leaders from countries such as Germany, France, and India are seeking to engage with the Nigerian President as part of growing diplomatic and economic relationships.

Record Revenue in Customs

In a related development, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, announced a record-breaking achievement for the agency. For the first time in its history, the Nigerian Customs Service collected over N5 trillion in revenue in under 11 months, far exceeding the 2024 target. Adeniyi attributed this remarkable accomplishment to the strong leadership and reforms implemented by President Tinubu’s administration.

With robust security measures, economic reforms, and international recognition, Ribadu painted a picture of a government that is both determined and capable of overcoming Nigeria’s challenges. As the battle against terrorism intensifies, the NSA’s message to Lakurawa and other criminal elements is clear: under Tinubu’s leadership, their days are numbered.
