Week 11 of the Nigeria Premier League delivered high-stakes drama, with Heartland FC, Bayelsa United, and Lobi Stars each securing significant victories and four teams pulling off impressive away wins.

Bayelsa United, managed by former Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso, stunned Rivers United in Port Harcourt with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. This surprise result came against a Rivers United team managed by a former Super Eagles coach, adding an extra layer to the upset.

 

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars’ new Finnish coach, Mika Lönnström, enjoyed his debut win, leading his side to a 3-1 triumph over Abia Warriors.

 

Four clubs—Kwara United, Kano Pillars, Ikorodu City, and Bayelsa United—made headlines with away wins. Kwara United overcame Nasarawa United 1-0, Kano Pillars took down Bendel Insurance in Benin City, Ikorodu City edged past Katsina United 2-1, and Bayelsa United’s victory in Port Harcourt capped a weekend of significant road performances.

 

Elsewhere, a tight 0-0 draw between Enyimba and Remo Stars denied both teams vital points, while Shooting Stars dominated El-Kanemi with a 3-0 win at home.
