The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the shocking death of former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang. He was found lifeless in an Abuja hotel room just hours after checking in with a female guest.
Parradang, a respected figure in Nigeria’s security sector, arrived at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on March 3, 2025, at noon, driving a black Mercedes Benz. According to police reports, he paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay.
Shortly after settling in, he directed a hotel attendant to escort a female visitor to his room. The woman reportedly left the premises around 4 p.m. that same day. However, what followed has left authorities and the public in suspense.
A Friend’s Concern Leads to a Chilling Discovery
With no sign of Parradang leaving his room after his guest’s departure, concern grew among his close associates. Around 4 a.m. on March 4, a military officer, who was a friend of the deceased, traced him to the hotel.
Upon arrival, the officer and the hotel receptionist entered the room, only to find Parradang’s lifeless body seated in a chair. Police officers from the Durumi Station were immediately called in to secure the scene, take photographs, and collect crucial evidence.
The FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, debunked early reports suggesting that Parradang was kidnapped and murdered. She urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims, assuring that a full investigation was underway.
“The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are cooperating with investigators,” Adeh stated.
Speculations and the Ongoing Investigation
The mysterious nature of Parradang’s death has sparked widespread speculation, especially given the circumstances surrounding his final hours. While no official cause of death has been released, authorities are working to piece together what transpired in that hotel room.
Parradang, who served in the NIS for over 30 years, held several high-ranking positions before rising to the role of Comptroller General. His death marks a tragic and puzzling end to a distinguished career.
As investigations continue, the nation watches closely, waiting for answers to the many questions surrounding the sudden demise of the former immigration chief.
