Former Minister Sunday Dare To Attend Annual Inaugural Benjamin Adekunle Memorial Leadership Lecture.

The family of late Brigadier Benjamin Adekunle, the GOC of the Third Marine Commando division during Nigeria’s civil war has instituted an annual inaugural Benjamin Adekunle Memorial Leadership Lecture in honour of late veteran General with the maiden edition taking place in Ogbomoso on Wednesday, September 18,2024 at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso with the theme: ‘Ogbomoso Military Gallantry and the Federal Republic of Nigeria’.

Professor Omotoye Olorode; Dr. Olayinka Oyegbile, a seasoned veteran journalist, academic and former Editor at The Nation Newspapers and Rear Admiral Jacob Ajani (rtd.) are expected to deliver the maiden annual distinguished lecture. 

The important personalities within and outside Nigeria are expected to grace the occasion which includes,Former Minister of youth and sports development and Agbaakin of Ogbomoso, Chief Sunday Dare,CON( Founder of Black Scorpions FC, A football club founded in ogbomoso in memory of the late veteran General, Benjamin Adekunle),Senator Ademola Hamzat Adeseun among others. 

According to a family source, the remembrance activities would kick off on Friday, Sept 13, 2024, followed by a Golf Kitty on Sept 14th, at Ogbomoso Recreation Club and a church service at St. David’s Anglican Cathedral, Ogbomoso on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Furthermore, at the Soun’s Palace on September 17, 2024 ,the family of the late veteran General will unveil a ‘Support our Vulnerable Initiative’,where various forms of palliatives including cash, cloth,food and other valuable items will be distributed to vulnerable groups.
