Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, has made a passionate appeal to the warring parties in Rivers State to put aside their differences and embrace peace. In a tweet, Chief Dare expressed his dismay and pain at the ongoing political crisis, emphasizing that the chaotic situation must be resolved to allow democracy to thrive again.

The crisis in Rivers State, triggered by the rift between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike, has polarized the State House of Assembly. Lawmakers loyal to both factions have elected different Speakers, destabilizing the democratic process. Chief Dare noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has intervened twice, yet the parties refuse to make peace.

Chief Dare's tweet reads: "Rivers State: The daily hugger-mugger of Rivers State Politics concentrates the mind. President Tinubu has stepped in twice as leader. It's time for the parties to come to the table of resolution and compromise. Suffer not the people. Time is running out. The chaotic battle field needs to be cleared so that democracy can breathe again in Rivers State."

This appeal for peace comes at a critical time, as the people of Rivers State suffer the consequences of prolonged political instability. It remains to be seen whether Chief Dare's call to action will be heeded, paving the way for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
