Breaking: Tinubu Appoints Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as New NYSC Boss

In a major shake-up at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of NYSC, signaling a fresh leadership era for the youth mobilization scheme.

Brig. Gen. Nafiu, an experienced military officer, takes over from Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, with immediate effect. His appointment comes at a time when the NYSC faces increasing calls for reforms, improved security for corps members, and modernization of its operations.

Who Is Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu?

Brig. Gen. Nafiu is a seasoned Artillery Officer and a graduate of the prestigious US Army War College and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College. He is a Member of the 47 Regular Course and has held key leadership positions in the Nigerian Army, making him a well-qualified choice for the role.

Before his appointment, he served as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, and previously held the same position under the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Raised Abiodun Lagbaja. He was also a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria, shaping future military leaders.

Hailing from Ileogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State, Nafiu brings a wealth of strategic experience and military discipline to the NYSC.
