In a light-hearted but decisive moment during the ministerial screening on Wednesday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio had to step in and restore order after Senator Osita Ngwu praised the beauty of Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who was being considered for a ministerial position.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, took the floor to present her credentials and achievements as part of her screening. But as she began her address, Senator Ngwu, representing Enugu West, caught attention with his remark: “Mr. President, the beautiful nominee before us today is...”

Before Ngwu could finish, Akpabio interjected with a humorous but pointed response: “Stick to the resume. She didn’t include ‘beautiful’ in her CV,” sparking laughter across the Senate chamber.

Despite the interruption, Bianca remained composed, proceeding with her address by calling for greater commitment to Nigeria’s peace and unity.
