2027 Elections: "No Political Gang-Up Can Stop Tinubu" – APC Chieftain Declares

By Achimi Muktar

As political defections shake Nigeria’s ruling party ahead of the 2027 presidential election, a top All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has dismissed fears of a political upset, declaring that no opposition alliance can stop President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

His comments come in response to the recent defection of aggrieved APC members to opposition parties, including former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who reportedly joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and is allegedly wooing other political figures like Rauf Aregbesola to follow suit.

However, in a statement released in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye described the defection as a futile effort, emphasizing that President Tinubu has a master plan that will neutralize opposition forces at the right time.

"Tinubu’s Strategy is Unstoppable"

According to Oyintiloye, defections are a normal occurrence in politics, and any assumption that these moves will shake Tinubu’s re-election chances is a grave mistake.

"Take it or leave it, no amount of political gang-up can stop the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027," he declared.

"Those who are gathering against him should take time to study the kind of person he is. Tinubu has a winning strategy, and he is raising men and women of goodwill across Nigeria. His achievements, political sagacity, and love for the country will speak for him now and in the future."

"Tinubu’s Achievements Will Speak for Him"

The former lawmaker further stressed that Tinubu is committed to placing Nigeria on the path of greatness, and his ongoing reforms are already yielding results.

"The president will succeed, and his political enemies will realize their mistake in not supporting him," Oyintiloye insisted.

He challenged Tinubu’s critics to examine his track record, achievements, and widespread popularity before writing off his chances in 2027.

"His political strength, strong connections, influence, and resilience—which helped him triumph in 2023—will see him through in 2027 as well," he added confidently.

A Call for More Public Engagement

Despite his confidence in Tinubu’s re-election prospects, Oyintiloye advised the president to increase public engagement and sensitization efforts on his administration’s achievements and future projections.

With political tensions rising and key figures shifting alliances, all eyes are on Tinubu’s next moves as Nigeria inches closer to another high-stakes election.
